The Bloggers

Once an specialized Microsoft Windows computer programmer and evangelist. Now an avid Mac technologist and consultant. While his windows PCs suffered from the daily toils of hell, he saw light on a little Mac who could withstand the heat. The Mac turned his world around and he is now devoted to spreading the love of a Microsoft free world.

People who meet him say that he is a cyber angel of the digital age. However, he just wants to have fun with the latest tech toys, Asian paraphernalia and roam the world looking for good food and new cultures to experience.

A recent switcher with nearly a year under his belt, Chad hasn't regretted once making the transition. He is a self-proclaimed geek who spent nearly a decade under the Microsoft umbrella before he finally had enough. He's a web designer who's only ever had one true contract job utilizing his skills, this is mainly due to his tendency to procrastinate more than necessary.

In his spare time, which he has more than he should, Chad is a born and bred gamer at a heart who loves his Xbox 360, but still finds time for some iPhone gaming and sinking a few hours into Plants vs Zombies. The rest of his spare time is filled to the brim with keeping up with his Twitter timeline, playing Spymaster and chatting with fellow Macheisters in their chat.

A Canadian national, Eugene has more of a life on Twitter and the web than in real life. He mainly likes to read, surf the web and make extensive use of Scribbles. Other hobbies of his include socializing with his friends on the MacHeist Chat, surfing for great Mac apps and making his Mac look more like a Hackintosh. He currently lives in Hong Kong and will stay there until university. You can check out his semi-updated blog or Twitter timeline. Beware: the Twitter timeline may be full of inappropriate stuff that kids should not see.

In the Mac business since 1986, Freda started a Macintosh consulting company in 1997 that is still going strong. Encouraging Mac users, she was actively involved with the Kansas City Mac User Group, where she developed a training class for users new to the Mac as well as those that wanted to brush up their skill. She was involved with the production of the monthly newsletter, as well.

This mild-mannered Mac user spends her days helping individuals and small businesses with all their Mac needs. Her “free time” pursuits include working in the garden, small remodeling and repair jobs around the house, and being the staff for 3 very spoiled cats. (That is when she can drag herself away from her Mac.)

a.k.a. MacMuse. The founder and primary blogger for MacAppGem is a diehard Mac user who has been acquiring machines and apps since 1985. Always eager to try out new software — and an avid software and hardware beta tester — she hopes that her effort and that of her guest bloggers will bring to light useful apps you may not have considered or seen with much frequency elsewhere. Or perhaps at least reinforce an impression of an app you thought you might try but just weren't sure about.

She encourages commenting on the gems posted in the blog and also would love feedback and input on what gems her readers may have found that haven't made their way onto the blog yet. When not tending to this blog and a couple others, she is trying to keep track of her 7 year old son and working a full-time day job.
